Hello all. I've created an Open School group at Yahoo Groups. Unlike Classmates, it will be free of charge and people will be able to email each other directly without having to go through an intermediary (since email addresses are visible to others on the list). I'd been hoping some other graduate would make the effort, but no one has as yet, so I figured what the heck. If you're an Open School alum, friend, parent, teacher, or whatever and would like to connect with old friends, please join the listserv. In order to do so you will need to go to Yahoo Groups and set up a yahoo profile if you don't already have one.
Once you've done that, you can either go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/stpaulopen/ and follow the directions (the preferred method) which will prompt me to sign you up, or you can go to my contact form here and send me a note with your email address in it asking for an invitation and describing your relationship to Open School. Either way, just as soon as I get a chance - it could be a week or more - I will issue you an invitation as moderator and you will be able to join the group. Once in you can set your listserv email to be delivered in a variety of forms or not delivered at all. This will serve as a sort of Open School master list for everybody. I would encourage those who want to form smaller groups, like 80s grads, to create their own Yahoo Group. It's a pretty painless process.
I've taken the liberty of grabbing all the names of open school grads off classmates, so that someone searching for these people will be directed to this page. If you would like your name removed from the list please email me via this form.
For those of you wondering what I've been up to lately, you can check out my webpage. The short answer is I've been writing fantasy and science fiction and my first book will be available in bookstores July 25th 2006, WebMage from ACE books. Short stories and poetry have appeared in various magazines and anthologies over the past several years with more forthcoming.
